Daily Sketch: Demonic Parasite Ink Sketch

demon parasite artwork

A Demonic parasite ink sketch concept I drew in a recent art stream here - Drawing Demon Parasite

I wanted the premise to be that the parasite had drained the life force out of the mans head, that's why it looked zombified and rotting away and then the parasite after feeding off it's host for some time, just suddenly bursts out of the hosts chest and eats through the hosts brains leftovers and then on to another host the parasite would go.

Such a lovely design of my usual ink sketchy artwork. This was based on an idea in my head and it turned out pretty much how I thought it would, only a bit better.

I would have liked to add more brain chunks and the eye a bit more mangled in the ink sketch, but I'm happy with the way it was created.

Daily Sketch Journal #16 - Chainsaw Maniac

Trying to draw a chainsaw maniac and sketching ideas for that. The first pencil sketch was rubbish, but it helped me think better how to improve the drawing. And so this quick black acrylic paint sketch drawing of a chainsaw maniac helped give me some very basic ideas on drawing this as a possible illustration.

The chainsaw maniac figure needs to be explored more for such details as drawing the hands holding a chainsaw or the clothes He is wearing etc. I'll update soon!

Daily Sketch Journal #4 - Promarker Neutral Tone Art

The letraset Promarkers are professional art markers for Artists and I used the Neutral tones which are shades of grey to color in this rather old drawing I did with an ink pen last year. The Promarkers are excellent for blending various tones of color together and can be layered upon each other to create vastly different and richer tones.

The ink drawing is of a Demons head (No surprise there!) and I was happy at the end result of this quick colored piece of art. You can also look at the video I did here - Promarker Neutral Tones Art

Sketching Ideas For More Creatures

When sketching ideas for creatures, I tend to get carried away and the results are these types of sketches that get tossed down on to the floor, ready to be inked and coloured. The very idea that sketching becomes a chore is very much a myth as we can all get lost in the sketching process and just have fun with it.

So sketching ideas for creatures is an evolutionary process and one that you should work through yourself and try and get to grips with quick sketching your ideas down on to paper as fast as you can, so you can capture the energy of your own ideas.

The sketching process is a very methodical process that you begin right away. And it's up to you to make use of good ideas and get rid of bad concept ideas. The process of sketching helps with this and the elimination of ideas you don't like so that you can develop your better ideas further.

In the following drawing video I draw an idea of an arm that is a monster concept I was challenged to draw by another YouTuber. And this video is a prime example of drawing a creature concept from a basic arm shape.

Drawing A Vampire Skull

How to draw a vampire skull

This drawing tutorial is derived from a tattoo art idea I drew some time ago. And so I thought why not make a drawing tutorial out of it. Drawing a vampire skull was and always shall be a design that looks cool as skulls always look great as a tattoo idea. This Vampire skull I wanted to draw on a side profile, so that the teeth looked prominent and so that I could sketch in the all of the detail which helps bring out the evil looking skull design.

The first art video below you can see that I was exploring the drawing as you should in the sketching stage.

Inking the Skull now with a fine line gel ink pen. I tried to add better detail and help clarify some of the drawing by going over the pencil lines and adding extra details.

Coloring the Vampire Skull with Crayola color pencils. The idea is to create a flesh color for this Vampiric skull and let the colors create the three dimensional nature of this skull design and improve the drawing.
