Drawing Black And White Horror Sketch Cards

Drawing black and white horror sketch cards. Sketch cards are small trading card size pieces of artwork that can be sold or included as a bonus for buying a larger art print or illustration of any kind. The reasons for creating these is to help try and push me to draw more, but also have more artwork for sale and of course to include bonus artwork with some of my other work.

In the following video from my daily art vlog series I draw  a handful of them as a starter with a view to draw more later. I want to have a mix of color and standard black and white cards on offer.

Drawing Horror Sketch Cards

I used a Pigma brush pen and other fine line ink pens for these small illustrations. I buy my art materials and equipment from eBay.com or Amazon.com mainly.

Let's Draw An Evil Purple Worm

Drawing an evil purple worm. My daily art vlogs are changing for the better with this one in which I focus on one illustration for the most part of each day and stick with it until I'm happy with it.

Drawing a purple worm, this was inspired by those sand worms in Dune and an Octopus character in the Savage Dragon comic who had huge purple tentacles. This was fun to draw and was a request from another YouTuber.

Drawing a Evil Purple Worm

I used prismacolor pencils and some winsor and newton promarkers to color this. As far as a professional illustration goes, this needs some more artistic tweaks here and there for it to be considered as an art print, maybe add some kind of background or get rid of the background altogether.

Daily Sketch Journal #28 - Band Horror Logo Commission

The photos below are of a Band logo commission I did for a Fiverr client. The image of a guitar, microphone and skull help make the design part of a band logo quite well. The inked design looks more solid and the white cobwebs seem to add an extra dimension to the art illustration.

All I have to do now is do a quick logo in photoshop to compliment the design.

The initial pencil sketch of the band logo. Wanted to work out the elements first and see if they worked and they did, so I started inking below

The final inked version of the band logo illustration. Nice and black shades that contrast well with the white elements

Daily Sketch Journal #25 - Killer Klown Sketching

Wanted to try and draw a Killer Klown in oversized onesie like a proper clown. Might do a background on this one. Once again I'll update with updates on this and other drawings in the daily sketch journal blog series.

Just a pencil sketch at the moment, but it could do with some improvements around the drawing and maybe see about adding something in his hands, but what? hmmm? decisions decisions!

The Killer Klown drawing is on a sheet of A4 white card and this is the close up of that early pencil sketch.

How To Draw Swamp Things Face

Drawing Swamp Things face step by step in easy to follow photos of the main drawing steps. Swamp Thing is a classic DC character from the comic book of the same name and various Artists over the years have drawn him well and very inspiring. Including Bernie Wrightson and Steve Bissette.

This step by step drawing tutorial is meant as a inspirational look at drawing Swamp Things head and face and should help you draw this yourself.

how to draw swamp thing face
Sketch a curved line for the head

Draw in some rough lines for the eye brow shapes

Sketch in some eye outlines and frown lines to act as guides

Sketch the skull like nose in and start to mark in the tree branch mustache

Draw in some tree branches which will act as markers for facial elements like the cheek bones etc

Now draw in the eyes and lips of the Swamp Thing with some slight pencil shading

Add pencil shading around the eyes and also add extra wrinkles to make the face look earthy

The face is filling out a bit now, so time to do extra detail on the branch parts

Extra facial detailing and shadows

Still more tiny details, this is the part when you wonder when to stop the pencil drawing

Nearly done...

Your pencil drawing should be complete

Time to start inking, around the eyes is a good place to start

Try and work some shading in there with cross hatching and some thick black lines

Inking the drawing you can clear up and show the design in a much better light

Inking small details can be fun

And we are finished for the Swamp Things face

How To Draw A Tank

How to draw a Tank. This is a very simple photo guide of me drawing a basic tank from one of my Son's Toy Tanks. I suppose it is useful in that I break down the steps to draw this and whilst not a perfectly drawn Tank, it is an effort of sketching one. Trying to break down any difficult thing to draw is your best bet when drawing this kind of stuff.

Whether it is reference photos or actual Toys, you can really get a good insight into drawing real life objects and vehicles such as this. Follow along or draw it yourself.
