For a long time since the Last Of Us the game came out, I've wanted to draw some of the infected Clicker creatures and now with the TV series on HBO/Sky Atlantic I thought I'd have a go at drawing a couple of pieces.
Here are 2 separate works that I'm trying to finish off currently and maybe there will be limited art prints in the future of these.
Early on in the sketch process, I had a loose idea for both Clickers and thought about over exaggerating the fungus growth on the infected bodies of the creatures.I then inked over the loose pencil sketches that were just enough to act as a guide for the form of the figures.
Ink sketching with a combination of scribbles and finely tuned hatching with a Zebra Ola black gel ink pen (my favourite sketching pen at the moment)
With always, the coloring process starts with copic markers, adding in grey tone to form an under tone for all of the colours later on and then Faber Castell Polychromos pencils over the top.
The full figure Clicker creature I wanted to include a lot of the background to show the environment surrounding it, over grown grass and moss on the brick wall as well as a broken looking sewer drain.

Once I get to this stage when I've exhausted the copics and the coloured pencils, then I will start to use acrylic paints here and there to build up further tone to the illustration.
There are other Types of Infected that I would love to draw too, such as the Bloaters, Shamblers, Runners, Stalkers and the infamous Ratking from The Last Of Us Part 2.
Look for more updates on these pieces soon and when I drop the art prints.
