Daily Sketch: A Demonic Death Creature Ink Drawing

Todays sketch is of a Demonic Creature, an ink drawing that has quite possibly more to add to it as always with some of these ink drawings.

A large part of creating these artworks, one of the main reasons that some are left unfinished is I either get stuck with what more I can add to the design or I get another similar idea to draw and off I go drawing that next image disregarding the one or ones that I'm working on at any one time.

There are definitely more creations that will be in the similar style and excess details that I've done here coming in the future.

Ink Drawings On The Drawing Board

Here are a couple of ink drawings on my drawing board today. I really love working with ink pens, for these A3 size illustrations I am using Zebra Ola Gel Ink Pens, mainly because they are cheaper, but they are smoother to ink with, all the little inky details can become an obsession.

The past couple of years or so, I've been sketching and drawing HP Lovecraft inspired creatures and Demons from my imagination and that is the best thing about creating these for me, just to let my mind wander with nothing specific in mind.

The first one is highly detailed and I wanted to capture the standards I set up for the second drawing, it's not quite there yet, but with a bit more work I can ink lots more details with the ink pens.

Daily Sketch: A Death Metal Creature Ink Drawing

Lately, I've been working quite a lot on concept art for skateboard and merch (T-shirt) designs and also trying to apply more effort drawing the stuff I really love to draw and that is stuff from my imagination.

The written descriptions of HP Lovecraft provide great inspirations for the creatures that I like to draw. This design looks a little wide for a Skateboard, but I guess it could be applied to a t-shirt or some other licensed design.

I use various ink pens such as gel ink pens, as they are cheap and disposable and Sharpie markers for darker areas to be inked.

These types of designs always need developing as I am keen to make them a lot more complex in design with way more inky details.

Mordor Lord Of The Rings Acrylic Painting

I have recently attempted to practice painting with some good results and some of my acrylic paintings are for sale. Time and effort has been put into this particular painting. Although I would have liked to add more stuff to it, but maybe on another painting.

I had to include Mount Doom And The Eye of Sauron with the red and dark sky and rocky mountains. I used a reference photo, but went my own way with it half way through.

Black And White Skull Tentacles Art Skateboard Deck - Art By Wayne Tully

The first of many newer designs for Skateboard Decks and this is one of them with a black and white ink design of a horror skull with tentacles. Over time I will get better at the layout of these art designs for Decks.

Daily Sketch: Death Metal Demon Art

Daily Sketch of a Death Metal Spider like Demon creature.

I am pursuing the licensed art sales of a number of artworks here on my store - Licensed Wayne Tully Art and prices may rise depending on how popular or in dmeand my original licensed artworks become.

I seem to draw these black and white horror creatures a lot lately, usually in a state of decomposed flesh and textures which make them look rotten and that is the idea with these ink drawings.

I'm aiming to create more in the series of death metal artworks over the coming months and years in between other art project commitments.

Daily Sketch: Zombie Werewolf Ink Drawing

I drew this quite recently, a Zombie Werewolf ink drawing, a loose ink sketch that I challenged myself to create on a TikTok live art stream, usually the best way of tackling drawing something is to face it head on and just start sketching.

With this particular ink drawing I was concerned about the ink textures and trying to get that right and balance the whole sketch with light and dark areas.

I've drawn many werewolves over the years, but this is the best head shot I've created. Inking hair so that it looks good has always been a challenge, but I've found that if you create darker hairy areas and create a shape to the hair, it works better.

You can buy the original artwork here - Zombie Werewolf Art

Here is a very short timelapse of me drawing this Zombie Werewolf.

Daily Sketch: Old Drawings Always Give Me Art Inspiration

This old drawing, I must have drawn it a few years ago and it still gives me inspiration to draw new stuff as the ink details really make me excited about drawing similar horror skull stuff.

At the time of creating this piece, I'd already drawn similar pieces intended for a collected series entitled Torture Skulls in which I drew various skulls, zombie, demon or otherwise with various chains and hooks and spikes sticking through the skulls and kept them all black and white.

I guess, I'll have to link to this post, others in the series, so you could see them all.
